


Q1. What type of alarm monitoring services do you offer?
A. Here at East Midlands Central Station we offer a range of monitoring services covering Intruder, Personal attack, Fire, Environmental, Medical alerts, mechanical/electrical malfunctions, as well as Lift alarm monitoring.

Q2. What transmission systems do you support for CCTV?
A. Currently we support: Dedicated Micros, Xtralis/Adpro, Video Domain Technology (VDT) and in response to client requests our latest addition is the Vista SmarTel range.
Q3. What costs do you charge for your monitoring services?
A. This can vary from product to product, dependent on the signalling type, the package and sometimes the contract term. It is advisable to contact a member of our sales team on: - 0800 716 179 who will be happy to discuss your requirements and provide associated costs from there.
Q4. Do I need to be approved to use EMCS?
A. Not necessarily, we work with many companies of varying different sizes all of whom have different requirements as a company. One thing that is worth bearing in mind is that the Police will not issue a Unique Reference Number (URN), to non accredited companies.
Q5. Does EMCS have an associated Alarm Installation Company?
A. EMCS is completely independent and are in no way affiliated with an installation company, this makes us a truly independent Alarm Receiving Centre. It provides our customers with peace of mind that we are not vying in the same marketplace and reaffirms our commitment to supporting our customers; if our customers don’t grow EMCS doesn’t grow. We continue to reinvest in the company ensuring we keep abreast of technological changes and staff development, enabling us to provide the best all-round service levels.
Q6. Is EMCS an approved ARC for all types of alarms?
A. EMCS is fully accredited having been awarded the NSI Gold award for Intruder and Fire monitoring as well as monitoring to BS8418 for CCTV systems. We are also registered with the Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB) and active members of the British Security Industry Association (BSIA)
Q7. Can I have my own access to my sites online?
A. EMCS provide an alarm management tool, NetPort, which is available to all customers completely free of charge. It can be accessed 24hours, 7days a week, via a secure internet link (much like internet banking). With varying access levels available, it potentially allows users complete administrational control: the ability to place systems on and off test, to view alarm history and it also has reporting facilities which assist with false alarm management. WAPport, again provided free of charge, allows limited access via your mobile telephone.
Q8. Can I visit the Alarm Receiving Centre to view your facilities?
A. We actively encourage our customers to visit the ARC. We feel it enables you to see how EMCS operate as a company and also meet the team, therefore strengthening working relationships going forward. You are very welcome to bring along clients/potential clients too.
We also have conference facilities available, maybe you would like to use the facilities to pitch to potentials clients, hold a training seminar for your Engineers or perhaps hold one of your regular sales meetings here? The facilities are available to our customers free of charge, and provide an ideal opportunity to tie in with a tour of the ARC and meet the EMCS team.
Q9. What makes EMCS different from other ARCs?
A. EMCS was established in 1987 and with the support of our customers continues to grow year on year… We take pride in being an independent, family-run business and remain dedicated to ensuring that our customers continue to benefit from a personal service.
EMCS is completely independent, we have absolutely no affiliation with an installation company and are therefore not vying in the same place as our customers.
We offer full account management with both a field and office based account manager who are on hand should you require assistance.
Remote Access available via our NetPort (secure internet link) and also WAPport (via your mobile telephone.) Both services are free of charge and allow 24hr access to your customers. (see Q7)
We supply end-user information booklets for distribution to your customers, as well as printed labels with both your own and EMCS contact numbers.
Q1. Can I order monitoring direct from EMCS?
A. As EMCS are an Independent Alarm Receiving Centre i.e. we do not have an installation arm we don’t actually sell direct to end-users. However, if you contact a member of our sales team they will be happy to supply you with details of Installation companies that operate within your area…. Just call: 0800 716 179.
Q2. Can you recommend an Alarm Company in my area?
A. EMCS is soon to launch an online search facility which will show Installation/Maintenance companies that operate within your area. However in the interim feel free to contact a member of our sales team on 0800 716 179 who will be happy to help.
Q3. What happens when you receive an alarm from my system?
A. This varies dependent on the type of system that you have installed and of course the type of alarm that is received. We would recommend contacting your alarm company directly who would be able to provide a response plan to reflect your requirements and in turn notify EMCS.
